Update 7th June 06
Dear Friends,
Our solicitors have today lodged the case for Judicial Review with the High
Court. We have a good case to fight. Our fight is for justice and for self
respect. Our spirits are high. Our support is getting stronger day by day.
We are determined to call off the DH bluff!!!
Thanks to all those who have contributed.
Our collection to night (6.6.2006) has reached £22,900
This is good work but remember our initial target is £50,000
We need to keep the momentum going.
Victory shall be ours!!!

Legal Challenge Fund crosse£19000, Initial Target £50,000
The stream of donations continues slowly but steadily. The
Collections so far have crossed £19000 mark. We have a long way to go
but we are on the right track and we must continue the momentum.
Umesh has done a wonderful job and many of you have followed him by
sending mass emails. The legal challenge action group with Vinay & co. are doing superb job.We also need to think of other ways of raising funds. I know Satya had stimulated his colleagues during his college get-together. Some
body was talking about a show with some film stars or cricket stars.
Nitin is writing to some rich Indian entrepreneurs and so on. Amongst
us we will have lot of useful contacts. Please do suggest ideas and
see how you could be actively taking part in this big fight. We look
forward to a victory!!!
HSMP: Get ready to fight for the insult!!
We have been authoritatively advised that those who are on HSMP and
have been treated less favourably than UK doctors will have a valid
claim of race discrimination. This includes those who were turned away
mid-way through selection for GPVTS as well as those who were refused
to be short-listed because their visa was of insufficient length to
cover the full period of the post in question. Those affected will need
to take urgent action.
Friends our strategy group is planning best way to act. Details in
very near future.
Legal Action Update: Excitement starts, Count down Begins, 3-2-1
As you would recollect, first part of the legal action is "Pre-action
protocol”. On 23rd of May we informed the Home Office and the DH of
our intention to proceed with the request for Judicial Review. They
are given 14 days time to withdraw the regulation and have a chance
to avoid the review. Although we are awaiting substantive response
from them, our solicitors and counsel are busy preparing the
documents to be submitted to the court. The dead line for the
response from the Home office and the DH is Tuesday the 6th of June.
Latest by 7th June (Our solicitors have confirmed that this timing is
right!) we will submit the request for Judicial Review at the High
Court of Justice in London.
So we begin the count down, 3days to go!!!
